Contingent-NIPT Country plan

Recently, a new screening method called NIPT (Cell Free Fetal DNA Testing), which is based on the use of free fetal DNA in the mother's blood circulation, has been introduced in this area.

This method of screening for chromosomal abnormalities has a very high sensitivity and specificity, but the existence of various problems such as lack of response in 1-5% of cases, high costs, lack of accuracy in twin and multiple pregnancies, etc. have made this technique impossible to use. as a comprehensive technique and used as an alternative to common methods. Due to the problems of this method in various studies, the combined use of this method with old methods has been proposed during the Contingent Protocol, which can not only solve the problems related to this technique, but also bring much lower costs for the health system and the family. . In the present project, we aim to determine the place of using the NIPT technique based on the Contingent Protocol in the country. Also, by using the Reflex DNA testing method, we can minimize the psychological and economic pressure on the family and the health system of our country.
